An online moviemaking tool for run-of-the mill consumers, Smashcast Moviemaker is a complex flash application that starts with the user's still photos and gives them motion. Moviemaker has a multitude of movie templates to choose from, with further customization options within each template. The interface design for this tool had to be simple and foolproof, and to combine as few steps as possible. The resulting product is unbreakable, and can be used even by relative newcomers to the online world. It has been co-branded and sold for use by Kodak and Photopoint.com, and has been featured several times as Macromedia's site of the day.
